About Josan

Even as a child, Josan was drawn to questions he did not yet have words for.

He grew up in a religious household and encountered questions about God, human existence and the meaning of life at an early age. Yet he was not willing simply to accept much of what he was taught.

While he was expected to attend the gatherings of his religious community, he felt more drawn to the woods. Even the consequences did not deter him. There, on his own, he reflected on what he had heard, asked his own questions and tried to understand in his own way.

These questions did not disappear as he grew older. They stayed with him, without at first leading to a particular path, a teaching or a special role.

His life took its own course, while many of these questions remained in the background.

Later in life, Josan had an experience that fundamentally changed how he saw himself and life. He could not readily fit what had happened into familiar religious or spiritual ideas. The experience was direct, but its meaning was far from immediately clear.

Years of doubt, questioning and inquiry followed. He was not trying to validate the experience or turn it into a new belief. He wanted to understand what he had actually experienced, what was interpretation and what remained even under close examination.

Over time, this also changed how he approached the questions that had been with him for so long. Not every question needed a quick answer any more, and not every certainty had to remain unquestioned.

Amplitud Viva (Living Vastness) eventually grew out of this journey.

What Josan shares there is not a new teaching, but an expression of what has emerged from this inquiry and his own experience.
